Cishet men

[edit]

In the quote it says "even leagues known to be queer friendly are run by cishet men".

What are cishet (78.19.59.60 (talk) 17:53, 4 July 2023 (UTC))men?[reply]

"and the list goes on."

[edit]

Since this is supposed to be a factual account, there should not be an open ended statement like this. It diminishes and weakens the issues brought up in this article. Make "the list" or fix the sentence. It also makes the writer sound like a whining complainer instead of a thoughtful journalist. 97.126.138.190 (talk) 22:06, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. However, I don't believe editors should be "whining complainers" nor "thoughtful journalist". We all should really just be detached, encyclopedic writers merely archive facts as they are, without journalistic flair.
Please note this is not a dig at you or your edit. I am only commenting on the concept of what you said. Listen1st (talk) 12:59, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand the rationale for moving 2021 NWSL abuse scandal (rev 1174486088) to Sexual harassment in the NWSL.

As the article lede also reinforces, the public scope of the 2021 scandals began with the resignation of Farid Benstiti in July. The first public accusations of racial and verbal abuse against Rickie Burke began after his hiring from former youth players he had coached, and escalated with NWSL players raising their own allegations at the Spirit. Neither of those exclusively or primarily alleged sexual harassment.

The new article is redundant in many ways, repeating several events and ramifications. Its scope is less clear, and it does a poorer job communicating both the events and ongoing ramifications.

I would suggest splitting the events specific to the 2021 season back into an article, summarizing the aspects of it most relevant to this article's subject here, and linking this article about the narrower subject of sexual harassment to the article specific to the events of the 2021 season. -97.120.80.170 (talk) 18:13, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
